A Ghost Inside released a self-titled album last year, their first since a tragic 2015 bus accident that took the life of both drivers, their drummer’s leg and resulted in extensive physical and mental injuries for each band member. Over the past six years, the band has slowly been forging a comeback. The Ghost Inside are back to prove they can still do this. And they absolutely can. There is so much frustration and emotion in this album. They really put everything they had into this album. The Outcast slows things down just a pinch, yet heaviness prevails in this song about not giving up in the face of adversity. The Pressure Point rips. Unseen is emotional and dark with the lyrics begging the question ‘Am I lucky to be alive, when it took everything to find a shred of hope in only shadows of me?’ It’s ear-catching and full of sheer desolation. Aftermath brings the hope and optimism we all need right now – proof that the strong survive and the beat goes on.
