Knocked Loose – A Different Shade of Blue

Release date: August 23, 2019
Label: Pure Noise Records

Easily one of the most exciting young hardcore bands in the world, Knocked Loose just released A Different Shade of Blue. This album is as heavy and as aggressive an album as you can find. Trapped in the Grasp of a Memory is full of anger and chunky breakdowns. Seriously, the song is just one long breakdown. A Serpent’s Touch features Emma Boost from Dying Wish and channels the early 2000’s Massachusetts hardcore sound. By the Grave opens with a filthy guitar riff and channels state-of-the-art hatred. Guided by the Moon is full of vitriol and inspires the listener to spontaneously punch the floor like the scene kid you are. Mistakes Like Fractures is a relentless force that grooves way harder than it should.  Forget Your Name seamlessly blends old-school hardcore riffs with and the uncompromising technicality of metal and features vocals from Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley. …And Still I Wander South is my favorite track on the record. The lyrics on this track transcend the typical meathead hardcore topics by touching on depression and infuriating cycles where we repeatedly turn to the very things that hurt us most. Misguided Son is earth-shaking heaviness and venom that does not subside.
