VAMPIRE WEEKEND – Father of the Bride // Spring Snow

Good things come to those who wait, but for Vampire Weekend fans, six years of waiting has felt like an eternity. The New York City icons are finally following up 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City, with an ample 18 track LP, titled Father of the Bride. Whether inspired by the Steve Martin comedy or frontman Ezra Koenig’s own recent nuptials, the project is a welcome return for the band. Despite the departure of co-writer and producer Rostam Batmanlij, Vampire Weekend finds themselves at their peak of collaboration, enlisting the help of Steve Lacy, David Longstreth, Danielle Haim, and Jenny Lewis. Featuring bright, 70’s inspired sounds, Koenig referred to the project as having a ‘springtime vibe’, proving that the new album, this light at the end of the tunnel, is much like the sun emerging after a long winter.
