Impending Doom– The Sin and Doom Vol. II
Release date: 2018Jun22

Rating: 4/5
Impending Doom is a Christian deathcore band from Riverside, California. Despite the baggage and preconceptions that come with such a description, Impending Doom’s sound places them among some of the best in their genre. The Sin and Doom Vol. II begins with The Wretched and Godless. With the intro track, Impending Doom make it clear that the listener should prepare themselves for a 35 minute pummeling. Drummer, Brandon Trahan, really paces the band throughout the album and the relentless double bass are on display on Burn. War Music is the first single coming off of The Sin and Doom Vol. II and it holds up to repeated listens. The first time I played it on-air, it actually got me out of my seat and stomping around the studio. Paved with Bones is another solid track and provides conclusive evidence that bands of all faiths and creeds can smash your face in. This album has the potential to be included in gym playlists for a long time. Although Impending Doom’s lyrics might not appeal to everyone, you have to respect their musicianship and their consistency over 11 years as a band.
