A modern take on folk, a full yet intimate sound with glorious harmonies and heavy drums. This album feels earthy, its melodies and lyrics are simple and warm. This piece seems a bit more pop than his other two albums, but maintains the great folk feel he’s become known for. The instrumentals are rich and diverse, but the strings are a real stand out. S. Carey was originally a drummer for Bon Iver, so if you enjoy their older stuff you’ll most definitely enjoy this record.
