Tycho’s fourth full-length Epoch, released as a surprise digitally back in September, finally sees physical release. A similar sound to Tycho’s last album Awake, signature instrumental blend of electronic music and post-rock. But there’s also a little more variety this time around – “Horizon” has the closest thing Tycho has come to a four-on-the-floor house beat and makes me think of old-school electronica like Orbital, while other tracks like “Glider”, “Slack” and especially “Local” are far more rock oriented. Overall, if you’re a fan of Tycho’s previous work you won’t be disappointed.
