Barclay Crenshaw better known by his dj name Claude VonStroke has dropped that moniker and released a self-titled album. He pioneered the Bay Area House movement which is a mix of Detroit Techno with a more bubbly sound to it. Here though he delves into his musical roots and has produced an Electro Hip Hop album. There are a few rough –edged songs here like The Real X-Files and Artifacts but overall the album has Barclay’s subtle, smooth and clever hooks and loops. A little different from his normal House but worth taking the time to listen to.
