I have been a fan of Frank Ocean for many years, and waiting for this album to drop was an absolute rollercoaster. For a few weeks there was an Apple Music stream of Frank doing random woodwork, that leaded to him constructing a staircase, and dropping a “visual album,” and then announcing he would drop another album that weekend. It was a lot of stress, but it was so worth it for the album we were given with Blonde. Channel Orange on the surface was a pop album, and it was very accessible and still unique and experimental at the same time. Blonde isn’t like that; it has layers. Layers that take a very long time to fully digest. I have listened to this album over 40 times since it has been released and I honestly find something that I enjoy from it more and more with each listen. If you haven’t given this album a listen yet, I would highly suggest you do so, as it is one of the best albums I have undoubtedly heard all year.
