Brazilian mastermind Amon Tobin has returned with his fearsome bass happy side project. His thumping grooves and intricate, developing harmonies work together to form “dance music” that creeps into your mind and stays. His creative process and themes from his other projects, like Isam, can also be heard as it still sounds as though we’re strapped to a massive mechanical ship floating through space. It is honestly difficult to fully explain his sound, as he is one of the few electronic artists that truly builds his music from the ground up, and every sound heard in the songs was created by him, most likely at 3am in a dimly studio crammed with modular synthesizers. The only thing missing is more tracks, but this short album is a perfect taste of everything Tobin is capable of.
