Nahko and Medicine for the People – “Hoka”

Hopefully you guys caught Nahko’s fantastic set at Tumble Down (I didn’t because I was at Osheaga) but I still heard it was fantastic, and he probably played a lot of songs off of this album. Nahko Bear himself is an enigma, and he transfers his emotional energy into his unique blend of folk rock, hip-hop, and a little bit of jazz. There are a lot of themes that run through this album, but it’s so good that I feel like I cannot give this album the justice it deserves. Just listen and experience it for yourself.
