JR JR is the duo of Daniel Zott & Joshua Epstein formerly known as Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. This album is their first under their new name. Continues their style of keyboard-based pop, often propelled by synths and dance beats. Very similar to a lot other synth based “indie” pop out there right now, but at the same time, they show more of a classic, McCartney-esque approach to pop songwriting like on “Philip the Engineer” and “In My Mind (Summertime)”. Light & breezy, pleasant if not particularly original.
