Abacus hail from Columbia, SC with a blend of hardcore noise. “Culling Strength” starts off soft, plodding straight into a wall of filthy drums. “Intentions” hits the eardrums with a hail of bullets. “Bodies of Water” sidesteps the guitar/bass attack with d-beat madness. “Gold Standards” fucks your head thanks to the amazing work of Paul Huff. An impressive release with just one flaw: too much filler, not enough tasty d-beats.
