Label: Fat Wreck Chords
So. Cal punk rock veterans Strung Out return with their first album in 5 years. These guys happen to be one of my favorite punk bands. Their last few albums have combined the fast-paced skate punk of their previous work with technically proficient metal influences. This album continues with that style but explores a style of songwriting more in line with their early material. At times the album drifts dangerously close into Avenged Sevenfold territory, particularly on the opening track “Rats in the Walls”, but for the most part these songs are classic Strung Out. Some highlights are “The Animal and The Machine”, “Nowheresville” and “No Apologies”. Transmission.Alpha.Delta is a solid Strung Out album: maybe not their best, but it will please longtime fans.
