Distractions is the latest from UK artist Beardyman. The artist originally started his career as a beatboxer winning several major competitions and accompanying other acts. He has been solo for a while now and uses a device he created called the Beardyman 5000mklll which allows him to sample his voice into the system and instantly use it in his music. His range and capacity for beats and sounds is pretty incredible and when he adds extra beats and effects the music is pretty amazing. It is mostly rooted in Dubstep but there are elements of Drum&Bass, Techno, Reggae, Rock and Breakbeat. When listening to his music the line blurs between what is his voice and what is an actual instrument. The album mellows out quite a bit towards the end but overall a pretty sweet album.
