Rancid return on Honor Is All We Know, their first release in 5 years. Honestly, they haven’t lost a step. Choice tracks are “Back Where I Belong” (snappy with a touch of rockabilly guitar) and the street punk anthems “Raise Your Fist” and “Collision Course”. “Evil’s My Friend” pays homage to Operation Ivy and the Wolves-era with the infectious bass hooks of Matt Freeman. “In The Streets”, “Malfunction” (love the ska beats) and “Everybody’s Sufferin'” are my next three picks. I happened to pick up the Japanese version, which adds three extra tracks. Favorites are “Breakdown” (super fucking catchy!), and “Turn In Your Badge” (raw and reminiscent of their early material). Rancid is unique due to the fact that they are constantly evolving with each new album. Their abundance of side projects also helps to keep the creative juices flowing. I believe that Rancid has a honest chance of getting into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
