Battleme – Future Runs Magnetic (El Camino)
Sophomore release of Lions vocalist Matt Drenik, the record tries its hand at both lofi hard rock, and poppy synth personalities, but eventually finds home in a kind of driving alt-folk. Some interesting off tone verses a la Nirvana influence, curiously soft vox, grandiose quivering guitar work. At its best in down tempo tracks.
