Kid Smpl is back this time with an EP titled Silo Tear. The EP has his classic sound, Downtempo Atmospheric Bass Music, but there’s some drone and static mixed in this time giving it more urban grittiness. While I like that he’s diversifying his sound a bit, it still has a one dimensional feel to it. Track 1, Silo Tear, sounds just like track 3, Ja, and so on. I like the grittiness that’s he’s added here but hopefully he can spread his wings a little more and create an album that has his lush sound but with a little more depth.
