The Honey Trees – Bright Fire

The Honey Trees are a pop duo out of California consisting of Becky Filip and Jacob Wick. They specialize in slow, sad, pretty love songs. Filip is the stronger vocalist of the two, giving powerful vocals to songs such as “Nightingale” (one of the more upbeat numbers on here which reminds me a little of Neko Case). Some of the other songs, like “Still I Try” and “Ammon’s Horn” drift a little too close to easy listening/adult contemporary. Still, this album features a bunch of good songs if you’re looking for something softer to play on your show
