TV En Francais is the fifth album from We Are Scientists, who are known for songs like “Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt” and “After Hours” as well as some funny music videos. They are from California but could easily be mistaken for being British, as they play a style of guitar pop comparable to bands like Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand and The Kooks. At this point they are very comfortable with who they are as a band and fans of their previous work won’t be disappointed. There are some great potential singles like “Dumb Luck”, “Sprinkles” and especially “Slow Down” which is the hardest rocking song on the album. Other songs are more forgettable, but get by on the strength of the album’s best songs.
