Twelve Foot Ninja – Silent Machine

Twelve Foot Ninja are a band from Australia who play a very interesting style of alternative metal that manages to incorporate a whole bunch of genres including funk, reggae and latin music while still having a cohesive sound. The vocals are similar to Faith No More, while the mix of genres brings to mind Mike Patton’s other band Mr. Bungle. The production has a very clean sound, yet the songs don’t pander to mainstream rock radio. The music is very fun and the band has a sense of humor that can especially be seen in their music videos. This music might lean a little too close to nu-metal for some, but for those who are feeling adventurous, this album is worth a listen. There aren’t a lot of bands making this kind of music these days so this album was refreshing to hear.
