Honor Found In Decay

Neurosis Honor Found In Decay
Release date: 20120ct30
Label: Neurot Recordings
Rating: 4/5

Formed in 1985, Neurosis originally started out as a hardcore punk band. Over the years, their sound evolved into a mix of post-metal and/or sludge with some folk elements. It would be criminal to let Honor Found In Decay slip through the cracks. “We All Rage In Gold” and “At The Well” are two well-crafted tracks, incorporating a great mix of sludgy, sorrowful riffs. The latter lays on more of the sorrow. “Bleeding The Pigs” is a mixed bag of sorts, building up to something epic and yet, falling flat towards the middle. “All Is Found…In Time” breaks from the slow pace of the previous tracks with a stronger emphasis on drums. I have to admit, I’m not worthy enough to review anything by Neurosis. Had I reviewed this release over a year ago, I might have appreciated it more. If you’re a fan though, you can’t go wrong with this release. Check it out!
