Chilean-American composer mixes electronics with acoustic instruments in abstract pieces inspired by the poems of Pablo Neruda and Salvador Dali amongst others. Works are highly variable–lyrical, loud, aggressive, volatile and quiet as well.

Beata Mori–Message–Young, Contemporary Hungarian Composers for Cimbalom

The title says a lot–the cimbalom is a concert hammered dulcimer common in Eastern European music. These pieces are abstract and expressive, performed by a 26 yr old  who began playing cimbalom at age 12 and won a Cimbalom performance competition 2 yrs later. Try 2, 6, 7, 12, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21

Waveform, one of the top ambient/lounge labels has released a new compilation.  Waveform Transmissions Vol. 2 is a mix of ambient and lounge with some ambient dub mixed in.  Very mellow and smooth with a steady beat, perfect to chill to while watching the autumn sunset.  An excellent compilation.
